As soon as you land at the airport, your private driver will be waiting to greet you and take you to your riad, located in the heart of Marrakech's bustling medina. If you arrive early in the day, you'll have plenty of time to begin exploring the city's enchanting streets and cultural landmarks.
After breakfast, depart Marrakech and head towards Ksar Ait Benhaddou, driving along a winding mountain road with stunning views. Visit the Kasbah of Glaoui and cross the valley of the Ounila River before reaching Tamdaght, also known as the "Kasbah of Storks". Check into your riad at Ait Benhaddou for the next 2 nights, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the largest Ksar in Morocco. Continue to Ouarzazate and then to Skoura, where you'll spend the next 2 days in a beautiful oasis at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.
Discover the unique culture of Southern Morocco on an easy walking tour through a palm grove, with stops to interact with local families. Learn about regional culture, history, and way of life. Your guide will lead you on a 1-hour walk through the stunning Sidi Felah canyons, stopping at villages for fun activities and live entertainment. Visit a traditional pottery factory and old Kasbahs, and savor local and Moroccan cuisine with a family at lunch. Today, bid farewell to Merzouga and the Sahara and head to the magnificent and fertile Draa Valley, which runs like a green belt along the Draa River, cutting through the barren desert landscape. Your journey continues along the longest river in Morocco, past a stone desert or Hammada, where the famous nomadic tribe Ait Atta calls home. Begin today's hike by descending into the valley, reaching an exciting area where many former trade routes run, and local products and specialties are still offered at numerous markets. Cross some villages and meet the Drawis, the inhabitants of the Draa Valley (about 2 km, about 40 Min, +/-50 m ascent). After the hike, continue your journey to Zagora.
